East Goes First Mahjong House & Boutique in Leesburg, Virginia is looking for a creative, outgoing and organized person to help us build the EGF brand, grow our online community and keep people excited about what’s happening at the studio.

This is more than just posting pretty pictures. We’re looking for someone who can create great content, market our events and offerings, engage with our community, and pay attention to the numbers to see what’s working.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Manage EGF’s Instagram and Facebook presence
• Create Reels, Stories, posts and other engaging content
• Be at EGF regularly to capture photos, videos, events and everyday moments
• Develop and maintain a consistent social media/content calendar
• Promote open play, lessons, leagues, special events, memberships and boutique merchandise
• Help create marketing campaigns for new programs, events and seasonal promotions
• Engage with followers, respond to comments and help build our online community
• Help grow EGF’s followers and local awareness
• Track social media performance including reach, engagement, follower growth, clicks and other key metrics
• Provide a simple monthly report showing what performed well and what we should do more or less of
• Help drive traffic from social media to our website, reservations, events and boutique
• Assist with basic paid social media advertising when appropriate
• Help with email marketing and other digital marketing as EGF grows
• Keep an eye on social media trends and bring fresh ideas to EGF
• Make sure everything we put out feels unmistakably East Goes First

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Someone who:

• Knows how to play American Mahjong or is willing to learn
• Is outgoing, friendly and genuinely enjoys meeting people
• Is comfortable approaching and talking with guests
• Is creative and has a strong visual eye
• Understands Instagram and Facebook beyond simply posting
• Is comfortable creating Reels and short-form video
• Understands social media analytics and can explain what the numbers mean
• Has knowledge of digital marketing and growing a local business
• Is organized, dependable and able to work independently
• Understands that social media should ultimately help bring people through the door
• Loves coming up with new ideas and trying them
• Gets the personality of EGF—welcoming, stylish, playful and community-minded

THE DETAILS

Part-time with a flexible schedule
Approximately $1,000/month for the social media & marketing role

There will also be opportunities to work additional paid hours as an EGF Hostess, welcoming guests, helping with check-in, getting players settled at their tables, assisting with events and helping create the warm, fun experience we want people to have every time they walk through our doors.

​

Working hostess hours is a great way to become part of the EGF community and gives you a front-row seat to the people, stories and moments that make great social media content.

​

Some social media work can be done remotely, but this is not a fully remote position. We want someone who enjoys being at East Goes First and becoming part of the personality of the space.
